Commando, formerly known as Commando War Stories in Pictures, is a series of British comic books whose content is primarily set during the First and Second World Wars. Since June 1961, when Commando first burst onto the scene, the comic books have presented tales of bravery and conflict on land, sea and in the air during the two World Wars.
Still in print today, Commando is known for its distinctive 7 x 5 inch, 68-page format as well as its dramatic storytelling and strong black and white artwork.
The covers of the Commando comic have always been in colour and this calendar consists of 12 iconic cover images chosen from comics that have appeared over the past 50 years - a wonderful tribute to the UK's most popular and enduring war comic.
